This compact and action-filled tour takes you to three of Southern Africa’s top destinations – Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta – with three nights spent at each. Accommodation is luxurious throughout and you can expect personalised service and an exclusive, crowd-free safari experience.
It is an all-inclusive tour with delicious, gourmet meals included as well as game drives, canoeing and river cruises. There are also opportunities to enjoy exciting optional activities like white-water rafting and adventure activities at Victoria Falls, as well as once-in-a-lifetime interaction with habituated elephants.
You will begin at the iconic Victoria Falls where adventure, thrills and an introduction to safari awaits. You will overnight in a luxurious lodge on the riverbanks of the Zambezi River and enjoy a complimentary tour of Victoria Falls. Move to Chobe National Park for gorgeous river views, sundowners on the water and lots of elephant sightings. Your final destination is the Okavango Delta where you will experience complete tranquillity, exclusivity and luxury in a beautiful tented camp. Quick, hassle-free transfers are done by road and light aircraft flight, and you are accompanied at all times by an experienced guide.
Your adventure begins after touching down at Livingstone Airport in Zambia, where you will be greeted and welcomed by our staff. A short road transfer takes you to the lodge’s beautiful setting on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River, and this will be your base for the following three nights. The afternoon is yours to spend as you please – sit back and take in sweeping views of the river from your private room, track rhino on foot or enjoy your first afternoon game drive.
After a restful night you can look forward to a day of exciting activities, all included in your stay: take a tour of the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, go canoeing, or enjoy a sundowner cruise on the Zambezi. We also offer walking safaris and game drives in Mosi-oa Tunya National Park, and cultural tours to the local school and village.
Livingstone is known as Africa’s adventure capital so if you are an adrenalin junkie you can take on the Grade 5 rapids of the Zambezi River, swim on the edge of the Falls in the Devil’s Pool, take the ‘Flight of the Angels’ over the Falls on a helicopter or microlight, or go bungee jumping. These activities are optional extras but are easily co-ordinated by your personal Paramount Travel expert.
Bid farewell to Zambia with a final breakfast and an early morning game drive. It is then time to cross the Kazangula border into Botswana – you will transfer over the river at a place known as ‘Four Countries’ as it is the point where the borders of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia meet. A guide will escort you through customs to ensure a hassle-free crossing. After the transfer, you will arrive at Chobe Bakwena Eco Lodge, located on a hilltop overlooking the Chobe River and floodplains.
Chobe National Park is the second largest wilderness reserve in the country and is best known for its estimated 80 000-strong elephant population. After lunch, and perhaps a spot of high tea, is the scheduled afternoon safari activity, which is usually a romantic cruise on the Chobe River (look out for families of elephants crossing, the leader testing the depth of the water and the babies kept safe in the middle of the group). You will return to the lodge after a spectacular sunset where a sumptuous dinner awaits. The following day is all about tracking big game including lion, hippo, crocodile and large herds of elephant and buffalo – either on game drives or river cruises. Chobe Bakwena Eco Lodge is not only eco-friendly, it allows for easy access into Chobe Park and a cultural immersion into the Kazungula Community.
Days 7-10: Into the Okavango Delta | 3 Nights
Today you will begin the exciting journey into the Okavango Delta. After a short transfer to Kasane Airport a light aircraft flight takes you to Machaba Camp. It is a very scenic flight and is followed by a short road transfer to Machaba Camp.
Your next three nights are spent in luxurious tented suites, and you will be treated to a very exclusive safari experience within 260 000 acres of private wilderness. The camp accommodates just 24 guests at any one time and offers serene mokoro excursions (subject to water levels), romantic bush dinners, guided nature walks, game drives as well as the rare opportunity to enjoy night drives.
The day begins as usual with a scheduled morning safari activity, usually a game drive, followed by a full breakfast. It is then onto the Airstrip for a short light aircraft flight to Maun International Airport which connects to South Africa, Namibia or Victoria Falls, depending on your next destination.
