The South Luangwa is Zambia’s premier National Park and has been dubbed as one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The concentration of the game along the Luangwa River and its associated Ox-bow lagoons is among the most intense one can find anywhere in Africa.
The magnificent Victoria Falls are known by the local people as Mosi-oa-Tunya, which means “the smoke which thunders”. They are one of the greatest natural wonders of the world and a must for any visitor to Zambia.

Day 1: Shawa Luangwa Camp - South Luangwa National Park
Arrive in Lusaka and connect onto a light aircraft flight to Mfuwe.
On arrival a driver will meet you and drive you through the small town of Mfuwe to reach your lodge, on the banks of the Luangwa River.
Day 2: Shawa Luangwa Camp - South Luangwa National Park
Morning safaris tend to leave just after sunrise, cross the river into the national park with your guide and embark on a three-hour game drive exploring the lagoons and plains in search of a multitude of wildlife such as elephant, zebra, buffalo, giraffe and leopard, and lion too.
Return to the lodge for lunch and a dip in the refreshing pool.
Day 3: Shawa Luangwa Camp - South Luangwa National Park
This morning you can perhaps try a walking safari. The South Luangwa is well known for its guided walks, which offer a chance to get closer to the smaller animals and learn about their habitats.
Day 4: Shawa Luangwa Camp - South Luangwa National Park
This morning, you could enjoy a morning bush walk, followed by an afternoon game drive continuing until after dark to see some of the amazing nocturnal game.
Night drives are an excellent time to look for leopard and other predators who use the cover of darkness to hunt their prey.
Day 5: Shawa Luangwa Camp - South Luangwa National Park
Your last full day on safari — if there is anything in particular you are still keen to see do let your guide know so they can take you to the best areas for a sighting.
Day 6: Sindabezi Island Lodge - Victoria Falls & Livingstone
Today you will be transferred from the camp to the airport for your light aircraft flight to Livingstone via Lusaka.
You can stop off at a local craft and textile market on the way to the airport to pick up some hand-made souvenirs.
In Livingstone, a driver will meet you for the journey to your next riverside lodge. Head out onto the Zambezi River for a sunset river cruise.
Day 7: Sindabezi Island Lodge - Victoria Falls & Livingstone
A full day at leisure to explore Victoria Falls and the surrounding areas. There are lots of activities to do in the area, choose from guided nature walks, a tour of the falls, fishing, rhino tracking or a village visit.
Day 8: Sindabezi Island Lodge - Victoria Falls & Livingstone
The Victoria Falls region is known for its adrenaline activities, take to the skies in a helicopter or microlight for an aerial view of the falls, Zambezi River and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.
Alternatively you can walk across Victoria Falls Bridge into Zimbabwe to gain a different perspective of the Zambezi gorges.
Day 9: End of Trip & Departure Back Home
Enjoy a leisurely riverside breakfast before your transfer to the airport to commence your journey home
